I need support with relationships at home
There are many things that can put strain on relationships at home, and we all argue from time to time. However, parental conflict which is frequent, intense and poorly resolved, is known to be a risk factor for poor child outcomes. Unhealthy relationships where there are elements of violence, coercion or control are a form of child abuse and parents have a responsibility to protect their children from this.
Harmony at home offers support for parents to resolve conflict in the best interest of their children. https://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/harmonyathome
Help is available if you are in an abusive relationship.
School staff can support you in seeking help. Please speak to Cath Brogan or any other member of staff if you need help.
If you prefer to seek support directly,
West Mercia Women's Aid offer a listening ear, advice and practical support to anyone living in an abusive relationship. Many people suffering Domestic Abuse are afraid that if they reach out for help, they will lose everything and they fear the involvement of police and children's services. Women's Aid can allocate an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to support you through the process of tackling the abuse and building a better life. It is important to take action, for yourself and your children.
Visit the website (there are links to 'cover your tracks' and 'exit the site' quickly) or call the 24hr helpline. The helpline is managed by one person, so may not be answered immediately, but leave a message and they will call you back at a time that is safe for you - they understand your situation.
