Operation Encompass (Domestic Abuse)
St Catherine’s CE Primary School is part of Operation Encompass, which is a national scheme that operates jointly between Schools, Police and Health.
Operation Encompass is a report that is generated by police and sent to the school, when a child or young person has experienced domestic abuse.
Our Safeguarding Team have been trained in the Operation Encompass procedures allowing us to then use the information that has been shared, in confidence, to support the child/ren in our care.
The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 identifies children who experience domestic abuse as victims of domestic abuse in their own right. It is important that children are protected from this.
We want to offer the best support possible to all the children in our care and their families. If you are experiencing a volatile relationship at home, please see our pages on family relationships for support and come and talk to us.
