Maths

As a school we follow the White Rose Maths scheme because we see mathematics as a key life skill and aim to create confident, inquisitive mathematicians; who love the subject.

Our school mission is that no pupil should be left behind.  By making high expectations clear and emphasising the value of mathematics education, our children are encouraged to build confidence and resilience.  We believe abilities are neither fixed or innate, but can be developed through practice, support, dedication and hard work.  A positive mind-set encourages a love of learning and resilience that enables everyone to achieve. 

The White Rose schemes of learning are designed to support a mastery approach to teaching and learning, as well as to support the aims and objectives of the National Curriculum. With the mastery approach at its heart, we believe the white rose scheme helps to develop the confident, inquisitive mathematicians we aim for.

The White Rose Scheme has been influenced, inspired and informed by the work of leading maths researchers and practitioners across the world.
