Science
In our Year 6 light topic, we had so much fun creating shadow puppets! We used black card and colourful cellophane to design them, thinking carefully about how the materials would affect the light. The black card was opaque, so no light could pass through, while the cellophane was translucent, letting some light shine through and creating amazing colours on our shadows. It was fascinating to see how the materials changed the way the shadows looked and helped us understand more about how light travels!
Shadow Puppets
In our topic of Animals including humans we did a science experiment. We learned about how nutrients move from the intestines into the bloodstream through diffusion. To see this process in action, we used Skittles! We placed them in water, and as the water dissolved the sweets, it spread the colours all around, just like how nutrients spread through the walls of the intestines and into the blood. It was a fun way to see how molecules move, just like nutrients moving into our bloodstream!
