What a wonderful day - joint celebration of the 10th Anniversary of St Catherine's school building and the Queen's Platinum Jubilee
We are all sure that Friday 24th June will go down in the school's history and that both pupils and staff will have lasting memories of this very special day.
Once again St Catherine's was awash with colour, vibrancy, singing and joy!
Well done everyone for taking part.
We visited every decade of the Queen's reign from the 1950's to the present day in our whole school assembly throughout the morning. There were lots of amazing performances and we loved seeing everyone taking to the stage to sing, dance and illustrate the headlines and fascinating facts of the various decades.
Even the staff took to the stage to sing a medley songs of friendship.
We were so pleased that the rain stayed away for the whole school picnic at lunchtime on the school field. How lovely to see everyone enjoying their picnic lunches together.
During lunch we were joined by previous staff members, some of whom even remember the old school building and the opening of the new one. It was so lovely for us to welcome back Mrs Power for the occassion. To mark this special day a celebration cake was cut by Mrs Cope and Mrs Brogan.
The children really enjoyed playing various games during the afternoon, they all sounded like they were having so much fun. The afternoon's activities were finished with a refreshing lolly, kindly given for each of the children by the school's PTA.
