World Book Day - Thursday 3rd March

World Book Day – Thursday 3rd March

In 2022, we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of World Book Day – with the message for all children ‘you are a reader‘! It will be filled with lots of exciting, celebratory ways to promote reading for pleasure on World Book Day, and all-year round. We will be celebrating World Book Day on the Thursday 3rd March this year.

Children are invited to dress as a character from one of their favourite books and bring in their favourite book to share during the course of the day. We look forward to seeing the usual array of amazingly creative costumes! Any questions, please don't hesitate to talk to class teachers. Book vouchers will be given out. These can be used in many high street stores or at the school’s book fair.

Book Fair

This year, our annual book fair will take place on the week of World Book Day.  Books will be on sale after school, from Tuesday 1st March to Friday 4th March. The fair will be open from 3.15pm to 3.45pm each day. More details will follow regarding the arrangements. The commission from the fair is always used to buy new books for the school library or classrooms. Your support of this project is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Swap a costume day for World Book Day – Wednesday 2nd March

If you have any old world book day costumes, you would like to donate or swap please bring these to the tables outside of the DT room on the morning of 2nd March. From 3pm to 3.45pm on this day, families will be able to choose costumes for their children, please note we would ask that you only take one costume per child. This activity is dependent on the donations we receive.
