PSHE and RSE St. Catherine’s C.E. Primary School
We have a strong, whole school ethos around our children's personal development. Over recent years this has been based on the 'Heartsmart' approach as the main thread of our personal development learning, and a carefully mapped safeguarding curriculum.
In the light of the new Relationships and Sex Education Guidance (December 2025), which is to be implemented in September 2026, we are currently reviewing our policies and curriculum content.
This review will take place across the 2025/26 academic year ready for the launch of our new curriclum in September 2026. The review will include:
- Pupil and Staff voice
- Training for staff and trialing new curriculum resources
- Sharing information and consulting with Parents and Governors
- Ensuring that the strength that we currently have in this area is supplemented and improved with a new whole school curriculum based on the Jigsaw approach
During this year, children will continue to receive a full PSHE curriclum.
