  • Children's Mental Health Week

    Fri 10 Feb 2023

The focus for Children's Mental Health Week this year has been 'Let's Connect'.  The aim has been to look at making meaningful connections with others and how this connection is vital for our wellbeing.

Within school our 'Heart Smart' lessons this week have followed this theme and the children have taken part in various activities to enable them to connect with and think of others.

Some examples of the activities the children have taken part in are:

Year 1 and Reception have shared an afternoon together getting to know each other.

Year 2 have made paperchains to help them think about what makes them feel connected to people and the things they care about.

Year 3 have decorated puzzle pieces to connect together and make a whole picture.

Please look at the following website for further information - https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/

  • World Book Day - Thursday 2nd March

    Thu 26 Jan 2023

To celebrate World Book Day children are invited to come dressed as a book character of their choice.

See below some simple ideas using items you may have at home. We do not want any families to feel they need to buy expensive costumes for this celebration day.

The kitchen will be serving a book themed menu that day - make sure you place your orders for this.

Year 5 will be having a History Day and are asked to base their outfits on their current class book 'Anglo-Saxon Boy' by Tony Bradman and attend in Anglo-Saxon clothes for a history workshop.

  • Rags2riches4schools clothing collection

    Tue 24 Jan 2023

We have signed up to the Rags2riches4schools recycling scheme, to help others around the world benefit from our good quality unwanted clothes and shoes. The school will receive 40p for every kilo we collect of reusable items towards our school fundraising and would be most grateful if you could help us with this.

Every child will bring home a bag for you to fill as a family just before our collection day. You may fill any other additional bag(s) if needed.

Our collection day is Wednesday 8th March.

Bag(s) can be returned to the school on the morning of our collection day and there will be a designated area, by the DT room, under the canopy to leave these.

If you have filled more than 1 bag and need to use the car park to drop these off, you will be able to do so on Tuesday 7th March between 4.30 – 6.00pm.

If you’re unable to make a donation this time, then please return the bag so it can be reused.

Please help us to help others and raise much needed funds for our school.

Thank you for your continuing support.

The donated clothes are sent abroad to become affordable clothing and currently donations are being sent to Ukraine for those in real need of clothing.

  • Please see below upcoming events this term - we will celebrate these in assemblies and in class

    Tue 10 Jan 2023

More details about World Book Day and Red Nose Day will be released closer to the time.

  • End of term approaches.

    Thu 15 Dec 2022

We have had such a wonderful two weeks counting down to Christmas.

We hope you all enjoyed the Christmas productions the children have worked so hard on. They have all been absolutely brilliant. Well done everyone.

Today the we held our Christmas Services in school, with Reverend Simon and Barrie from St Barnabas bringing 'church' in to school.

Our Christmas lunchtime has been fun, with the children enjoying the Christmas menu from our caterers or their own lunch, with crackers and Christmas music.

Thanks to our brilliant catering team from ABM for all their hard work today.
