• May Half Term

  We wish everyone an enjoyable May Half Term. We return to school on Monday 5th June.

   

  It has been a really busy week in school with the disco's and our whole school arts days. Photographs and more information about these will be on the June newsletter.

  

• Coming up before half term

  Thu 18 May 2023

  We are excited to be hosting a whole school arts and vision project on Wednesday 24^th May and Thursday 25^th May 2023. Children are invited to come to school wearing old clothes suitable for painting and craft activities. All classes will be creating art work that underpins the school values. We will be hosting an art gallery show after the half term break to share the children’s achievements. During this time, children will be helping to design an outdoor mural for our new wellbeing and prayer garden in the Year 4 courtyard.

   

  The PTA are holding a School Disco on Tuesday 23^rd May – key stage 1: 3.30-5.00pm, key stage: 2 5.00-6.30pm

  Information regarding PTA events will be shared via the new PTA app – Class list. Classlist is completely free and it’s easy to get started:

  1.            Download the Classlist app on iOS or Android

  2.            Select (“school name”)

  3.            Sign up. You can choose what data to share with your fellow parents.

  

• Coronation Celebrations - Friday 5th May

  What a wonderful day it has been at St Catherine's today.

   

  The children have all been busy making crowns, paper chains, flags, table settings, biscuits and taken part in lots of activities to celebrate the King's Coronation.

   

  We had our street party style lunch outside at lunchtime and it was great to see everyone enjoying their picnics and having fun together.

   

  We hope you all have a good bank holiday weekend and we will see you all on Tuesday 9th May.

  

• This week's news

  We have had a busy week in school.

   

  The PTA's Movie Night was held in school on Tuesday. Those children who came enjoyed a movie chosen by their year group, with popcorn and a drink. This event has raised £750 towards the fundraising for computer equipment. Thank you all for your support.

   

  Year 1 have visited Singer's Hill Synagogue and have explored the local park this week.

   

  We hope everyone has an enjoyable Bank Holiday weekend.

   

  Next week we have many more activities planned in school:

   

  RW have their class assembly on Tuesday 3rd May

  RY have their class assembly on Wednesday  4th May

  Year 4 children will take part in bikeability on Wedesday 3rd and Thursday 4th May

  Year 3 are visiting the Carpet Museum on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th May

  We will take part in a maths quiz event at Cookley Primary School, selected year 5 pupils will represent St Catherine's, good luck to them.

   

  And on Friday 5th May we will celebrate the King's Coronation with fun activities and a Big Picnic Street Party style lunch. Children can come to school wearing red, white and blue.

   

   

  

• Congratulations to our Year 6 Tag Rugby Team

  We are so proud of our Year 6 Tag Rugby Team.

  Today they have taken part in the Tag Rugby Competition organised by West Mercia Police at the rugby club.

  We are thrilled to pass on the news that out of 25 local school teams they have achieved first place.

  Mr Grazier is delighted with all of our team members who played so well, showed excellent team work and were a credit to St Catherine's.

• Easter Holidays

  Wow! What a wonderful day we've had today to finish the Spring Term.

   

  There was a celebration assembly this morning and well done to all those children who received awards. 

   

  The winners of the Easter Egg competition were announced. There were so many excellent entries that we awarded two prizes per year group. We all really enjoyed looking at the brilliant displays of these the library area. Well done to everyone who took part, there really were some beautiful entries.

   

  This afternoon the whole school have enjoyed a theatre production of The Secret Garden. What a great way to finish this term.

   

  We return to school on Monday 17th April.

   

  Please remember if you do order school meals the deadline is midnight on Thursday 13th April for meals for the first week back.

   

  

• Easter Egg Competition

  Look at all the wonderful entries in our Easter Egg Competition.

  This year the theme was 'love' and we are amazed by all the wonderful ideas.

  The winners will be announced on Friday 31st March.

  

• Reception's 100 day celebrations

  Today Reception have celebrated their 100th day in school.

  We have loved seeing all their wonderful 100 day hats. Well done everyone.

  What a brillant day they have had. They have taken part in a parade to show off their hats, decorated t-shirts, played lots of number games and even had a magic show this afternoon.
