  • Coming up this half term

    Fri 15 Sep 2023

At the end of our first full week of this half term we are so pleased to see our children enjoying their learning with their new class teachers. Well done everyone.

Most of the year groups have held their 'Meet the Teacher' morning this week and the information / sheets discussed will be emailed out to parents shortly. We just have year 1 to attend on Monday 18th September for their session.

Information has come out this week regarding a non-uniform day on Friday 22nd September when we are fundraising for the Air Ambulance. Donations for this can be made on your ParentPay account.

Please remember our clothing collection on Wednesday 27th September, the children should have brought home a bag for this. Please drop your donations off outside the DT room on the Wednesday morning (if you have more than 1 bag the car park will be open on the Tuesday evening). We are paid per kilo and our last collection raised £123 - let's see if we can equal or even better this amazing amount.

    Thank you for your support.

  • Last week of the Summer Term

    Wed 19 Jul 2023

The end of this school year is fast approaching.

Our year 6 children are preparing to leave and continue their education journey at their Secondary schools. This week they have performed an amazing Leavers Play to both the whole school and their parents. With the title "I'm a Year Six, Get Me Out Of Here" they took us on a trip through their time at St Catherine's as they earned stars to leave.

It was a really spectacular show and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their acting and singing. Well done to all of them.

They have been celebrating their achievements with pizza, bouncy castles and lots of fun and games.

To say farewell they will have a balloon release on Friday at 2:30pm which parents and family members are invited to attend.

All of our children have had a transition afternoon with their new class teachers and our new Reception class children have attended for stay and play sessions.

We look forward to all that the new school year will bring in September.

  • End of term approaches

    Thu 06 Jul 2023

As the end of term approaches we have been so busy at St Catherine's.

Today we have held our Sports Day. We are so grateful to have had such lovely weather. What a great day it has been and it was amazing to see so many supporters cheering the children on. Well done everyone. Please see the scores for each house below.

Thank you to those of you who attended the Summer Fair at school on Friday 30th July.

Despite the unsettled weather we had a great turn out and the PTA were thrilled to have raised £2333.91. Thank you to the PTA for all their hard work in organsing this event.

The money raised will go towards new IT equipment for use in the classrooms.

Both year 4 classes have held their class assemblies this week. It was great to learn about what they have been learning and hear them play their recorders.

    Trips:

This week Year 2 have been to the Black Country Museum and next week Year 1 are visiting Wild Zoo and Year 4 will visit Ludlow Castle, plus the History Guy is visting Year 5's for an Egyptian Day.

Year 6 held their Enterprise Fayre on Thursday and are so thankful to everyone for coming along to support their sale. They are now busy rehearsing for their end of year show.

Our non-uniform day for the RNLI has so far raised £286.00. Donations can still be made on your ParentPay account if you wish to do so. Thank you so much for your support for the work of this charity.

  • June activities so far.

    Fri 23 Jun 2023

We have had a few busy weeks in school so far in June.

Year 6 have enjoyed their Residential Trip to Llanrug in Wales. They all took part in some exciting and challenging outdoor activities.

Those children who did not take part in this stayed in school and worked on a St Catherine's Leadership Award.

Year 5 have been to Wolverley Secondary School for a science experience morning and were able to visit a planetarium, exploring a spectacular view of space and astronomy.

Reception had their first off site trip and had a really fun day visiting Little Owl Farm.

We have had lots of assemblies:

Year 5 focused on the 'Horrible Literacy Awards' and took us through a quiz on the story book characters they have been reading about this year.

Year 2 took us on a 'Journey through Year 2 so far', sharing many of their memories from the year.

We hope the parents enjoyed these as much as we did.

You may have seen some of our year 5 children taking part locally in bikeability sessions with Worcestershire County Council instructors. Well done to those children who took part in this valuable activity.

Finally thank you all for your support with the 2 non-uniform days collecting bottles and chocolate items for the Summer Fair.

The Summer Fair will be held at school on Friday 30th June 4:30pm - 6:30pm.

We are looking forward to seeing you all there.
